about
I am an oil painter, middle school art teacher, and co-owner of Petite Art Studio (Katonah) based in Westchester, NY.
My own previous art teachers’ influence was transformative. They showed me how art could be a lens through which to observe the world more closely, inspiring even the most mundane curiosities. Through their guidance, I began to see art as a way to record my thoughts and interests, leaving breadcrumbs of my identity and personality in each piece I created. The act of creating art became a journey of self-discovery, a way to express my emotions and document the world around me. I realized that I wanted to become an art teacher so that I can inspire others in the same way my teachers had inspired me- to help others see the beauty in the everyday and encourage them to leave their own marks on the world.
My love of nature led me to SUNY New Paltz, nestled amid the picturesque Shawangunk Mountains. There, I pursued a BFA in Drawing and Painting (2019), immersing myself in the natural beauty that surrounded the campus. The mountains became my muse, and I found endless inspiration in their rugged landscapes. Alongside my BFA, I also earned a BS in Art Education (2019) and an MSEd in Art Education (2021), equipping myself with the knowledge and skills to teach. The combination of these degrees allowed me to deepen my own artistic practice while preparing to share my passion with others. I am proud to be a NYS Certified K-5 Art Teacher and oil painter. I strive to create a classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore, create, and discover the world through their own unique artistic perspectives. I am dedicated to continuing to grow my independent oil painting practice and engage in the very same curiosities of nature, emotion, and vivid colors as I hope to inspire in my students.
